Thought that new ceramic clear coat was just hype, but my buddy in Tampa swore by it.
He said it held up way better against the Florida sun on his own truck. I tried it on a 2021 F-150 hood repair last week, and the gloss after buffing was insane, like a mirror. Anyone else tried a specific brand they'd actually recommend for daily drivers?

That mirror finish might not last a year though. Seen plenty of ceramic coats fail early under normal use.

My neighbor in Tampa had a ceramic coating put on his black truck last spring. By August the hood looked chalky and lost all its shine. That constant UV bake just breaks things down faster than anywhere else I have lived. You are not wrong about it being the final exam for any car finish. I would not trust anything labeled as long term protection without seeing it survive a full Florida summer first.
