Spent $80 on a new serpentine belt tool after my old one snapped, and it saved me three hours on that Ford van job.

The cheap one I had been using for years finally gave up on a 2010 E-350, and the fancy ratcheting style one from O'Reilly was worth every penny just to get the tensioner pulley back in place without cussing. Anyone else upgrade a tool unexpectedly and wonder why you waited so long?

Man that sounds like a real pain, glad the new tool worked out.

Wait, what kind of tool was it exactly? I'm wondering if it was something specific to the trade or just a general fix-it gadget. Sometimes the ones that look perfect end up causing other headaches down the line, you know? I've been burned by a few "miracle" tools myself, so I'm curious if this one held up over time or if there was a catch.
