Had a display go dark on me mid-flight last Tuesday, traced it to a corroded connector on a 3 year old screen.

Maybe it's the humidity changes inside the plane that do it. Idk, those cabins get super dry at altitude and then condensation can form when you land somewhere warm. Had a buddy with a portable monitor that kept flickering, turned out the connector was getting micro-corrosion from the temp swings more than anything else. Could be worth checking if the screen was stored or used near any vents or windows during transit too, those rapid moisture cycles can sneak up on you.

Three flights and one dead pixel line later, I'm convinced airline cabins are just glorified pressure cookers for electronics. My buddy's tablet screen straight up delaminated after a trip to Florida once, looked like a bad oil painting. Those temp swings from the cargo hold to the gate are probably worse than any humidity issue, you go from -20°F to like 80°F in fifteen minutes. Maybe we should start wrapping screens in those emergency blankets like they're delicate little burritos.

Yeah that's wild, bad connector on a three year old screen shouldn't happen.
