Spent 80 bucks on a fancy dinner and she ordered a side of fries because nothing else looked good

We sat there for 45 minutes while she picked at those fries and I ate my steak in silence, so was the money wasted or did I just dodge a bullet early on?

Isn't ordering fries the safest bet though, like she knew what she wanted and stuck with it? Sounds like she was just being honest about what looked good to her, not playing games or wasting your time intentionally. Maybe the bullet you dodged was your own expectations.

I mean, if she only ordered fries, she probably just wanted to keep it low key and see if you vibed without committing to a full meal. Maybe next time just suggest a place with cheaper apps so you don't stress about the bill.
