That small-town library in Ohio taught me more about local SEO in one afternoon than 6 months of courses
Was visiting my aunt in Springfield. She runs a little bakery. She asked me to help with her Facebook page. Librarian there showed me how to build backlinks through local business directories and chamber of commerce pages. Never even thought about those. Has anyone else gotten good tips from unexpected places like libraries or community centers?

That librarian in Ohio must be different from the ones near me. I tried something similar at my own local library in St. Louis. Asked about backlinks and local business help. They just pointed me to the computers and said Google it. No binder, no helpful tips, nothing. Community center was worse. The guy at the desk had no clue what I was talking about. Feels like you got lucky with that specific town. Most places aren't that helpful with digital stuff.

Totally feel you on this. Libraries are seriously underrated for stuff like that. I got my best local SEO tips from the front desk at my town's community center, of all places. They had a whole binder of local events and business resources I never knew existed. It's wild how the simple, old-school stuff just works better sometimes than all those fancy online courses.

Abby, that binder at the community center sounds like a goldmine. It makes sense though, those local event calendars and business lists are basically pre-built backlink opportunities that nobody thinks to grab. The old school stuff works because it's already trusted by Google without all the spammy tricks.
