Looking for a 3-4 day route in the Sierra after a brutal week on the Lost Coast Trail last month.

Oh, that soft sand on the Lost Coast is just soul-crushing. I did it a few years back and my calves were screaming for days after. It feels like you're walking on a beach that's actively fighting you. For a total change of pace, I'd second the Bishop Creek idea. Something like a loop from South Lake up into Dusy Basin gives you those smooth granite trails and crisp air. It's the perfect fix for battered legs.

Man, the Lost Coast in a rough mood? That stretch after Black Sands can be brutal with the tide windows and all that soft sand. It really pounds your legs into jelly. What part kicked your butt the most? For a Sierra reset, maybe look at something up near Bishop Creek, like looping through Dusy Basin. The trails are more forgiving on the feet, just pure granite and pine needles.

Black Sands to me felt like walking through wet cement for eight straight hours.
