Hot take: I defended the 2016 'Ghostbusters' remake for years until a friend made me watch the original again

I kept saying the new one was just modern and fun, but seeing the 1984 version last week showed me how much the remake missed the core chemistry. The jokes felt forced and the whole thing just didn't have that same spark, you know? Has anyone else had a remake they liked until a rewatch of the classic changed your mind?

Been there with a different movie. I loved the newer "Ocean's Eleven" until I caught the original Rat Pack version on cable. The slickness of the remake is fun, but the original has this loose, cool vibe that just can't be copied. It made the new one feel a bit too shiny and planned out. Sometimes you need that rewatch to see what made the first film work so well. What other remakes do people find hard to go back to?

Actually the 2001 Ocean's Eleven is the remake, not the original.
