Hit 10 fence line complaints in one month and now I do things differently

After 10 complaints from my neighbor about my fence being 2 inches over the property line, I finally paid $150 for a surveyor. Turns out his shed was actually 3 feet onto my land. Has anyone else had cheap neighbors try to pull something like this?

$150 is cheap for a survey that settled it.

I saw a YouTube video where a guy paid $400 for a survey and found his fence was 2 feet onto his neighbor's property from 20 years ago. Cheap price to keep a good relationship with your neighbor.

You are completely missing the point here. Your neighbor probably didn't know where the line was either and just wanted you to follow the rules. Most people don't hire surveyors for a couple inches, so his complaints were actually pretty reasonable if he thought you were on his land. You spent $150 to find out you were both wrong, which proves why those complaints were valid in the first place. Instead of acting like some victim, you should thank him for making you double check before you built something permanent. Now you BOTH know the truth and can move on without drama.
