My dad convinced me that dishwashers are overpriced drying racks
Last week my dad came over and watched me load the dishwasher. He said I was wasting $1.50 per cycle just to heat dry plastic cups that don't even dry. He pointed out that the heated dry uses more energy than the wash itself. Now I crack the door open after the rinse cycle and let them air dry overnight. Has anyone else ditched the heated dry and noticed a dent in their electric bill?

Wait, so you're telling me you actually run the heated dry cycle every time? I usually just let the dishes air dry by cracking the door open too and honestly can't tell a difference on my bill. Are you comparing a full month with heated dry to a full month without, or just guessing based on one or two cycles?

Argue back, @piper_burns. Electric heat cost pennies per load and dries better than cracking the door.
