My uncle told me to wrap brisket in foil, not paper, and I regret it
He swore foil would make it more tender, but after trying it on a 14-pounder last month, the bark was completely steamed off and mushy. Has anyone else had a bad result with the 'Texas crutch' method?

Foil works fine if you time it right.

Oh man, that reminds me of the time I tried to foil a potato and just made a smoky mess.

Tbh the whole "regret it" thing seems a bit much. It's just a piece of meat, not a life choice. Foil, paper, whatever, it all ends up eaten anyway.
