Just hit 500 flat tires fixed in my shop log and it feels kinda wild

I was closing up the shop last night and decided to tally the repair book for the month. When I added it to the total, the number hit 500 exactly. Five hundred flats. I started keeping track about two years ago when I opened my own spot, mostly just to see what tubes I needed to order. But seeing that number, man. It's not just the work, it's the stories. The guy who rode over a box of nails, the kid with the valve stem ripped clean out, the mountain biker who had three in one ride. It made me realize this tiny, annoying job is how I've met half the people in this town. Has anyone else hit a random count that made you stop and think about the job differently?

Cool number but honestly, it's just a tally. Means you ordered a lot of tubes. Don't think it needs a deeper meaning.

Huh, you're right. I never saw it that way.

Man, 500 is a solid number. I hit 1000 coffee stains on my own shop apron once and it just made me feel like a really messy person who drinks too much coffee. But for real, that's a lot of small problems solved and people helped. The tally tells a story even if it's just scribbles in a book.
