Picked a Park Tool spoke wrench over the Pedro's one last week - kinda regretting it already
I had to choose between the Park Tool SW-7 and the Pedro's Pro spoke wrench at my local shop. Grabbed the Park because it's what I always see in shops (you know, the yellow handle). But after truing a few wheels on a customers bike from 2007, the slots feel a little loose on some older nipples. Maybe the Pedro's would have gripped better? Has anyone else run into this where one brand fits certain spoke nipples way better than the other?

Honestly I think you made the right call. The Park Tool fits tighter on brass nipples for sure, but that loose feeling on aluminum ones is a real thing. Pedro's is more forgiving but its easy to round off corners if you're not careful. I've had both in my shop and the Park just lasts longer even if it feels sloppy sometimes.

my dad always says the same thing about his old jeep - some tools just fit certain things better no matter how much you spend. it's like that with everything honestly, finding what works for your specific setup.

Idk my dad's old jeep probably came with a wrench he found in a ditch and it works fine.
