Hit 50 custom knives made this month and my wrist feels it

That's double my usual output, mostly because I switched to a lighter hammer for the finish work. How do you guys handle the strain during big pushes?

My uncle is a physical therapist and he told me once that for every hour of repetitive work, you need like fifteen minutes of a totally different kind of movement. I try to remember that when I'm doing long sessions at my bench. What @the_joseph said about mixing in other tasks makes a lot of sense, even if it feels like you're stopping your flow. I read an article that called it "active rest" and it's supposed to help a lot more than just powering through. I mean, idk, maybe it's just me but I always forget to actually do it until something starts hurting.

How do you even remember to take those breaks, @ruby450? I get so focused I just zone out until my back is killing me.

Man, that's a crazy amount of work. I mean, I messed up my elbow pretty bad a few years back just from too much sanding on some furniture projects. Had to wear a brace for like a month, and it totally changed how I plan my shop time now. Maybe it's just me, but I try to mix in totally different motions, like sweeping up or organizing, to break up the repetitive stuff. Still feels like a losing battle sometimes though.
