Found out Gen X actually started the whole open office trend, not millennials
Was reading this article on office design history from the 90s and it turns out those cubicle free layouts were pushed by execs born between 1965 and 1980. I always assumed my generation made that mess since we grew up with it. Did anyone else grow up blaming the wrong age group for something?

Hang on, I think the dates are a little off for Gen X. Most folks put Gen X as 1965 to 1980, so they would have been in their 20s and 30s in the 90s when open offices started popping up. It was usually boomers and older Gen X execs making those calls back then, not the younger ones just entering the workforce. So yeah, we get to keep blaming the boomers for that one, mostly.

Earplugs and noise-cancelling headphones are a must if you're stuck in one... I learned that the hard way after three years of trying to get anything done in that setup.
