I finally linked my stiff neck to marathon tabletop weekends
Hey folks, I had a scary wake-up call after our last big board day. My neck was so tight I could hardly turn my head for a whole day. It's from craning over the table for hours without a single break. I realized we all do this, glued to our seats during long campaigns or tricky rules. That poor posture is a fast track to chronic pain and headaches. Start doing simple stretches every thirty minutes, and maybe invest in a better chair. Trust me, taking care of your body lets you enjoy our hobby way longer.

Yeah, I'm basically a gargoyle by hour three of any game. Last weekend's Twilight Imperium session left me with a neck so locked up I had to turn my whole body to see the door. I was so focused on my fleet movements I forgot I had a spine. Now I'm that person doing awkward chin tucks and shoulder rolls while someone explains their turn. It's embarrassing, but less embarrassing than calling my doctor to ask about muscle relaxants for 'space risk' related injuries.

That 'forgot I had a spine' line is so true, it happens whenever we get too focused.

Yikes, @coracarter, the gargoyle life is REAL. I keep a tennis ball by my chair now to roll out that awful knot. It looks weird but it saves my neck.
