I used to keep all my game boxes, but a flood in my basement last spring changed that

I had over 80 board games stacked in their original boxes, taking up a whole wall in my game room. After a pipe burst and ruined about 15 of them, I realized I was just hoarding cardboard. Now, I use a big binder system for all the cards and tokens, and I store the boards flat in plastic bins. It cut my storage space in half and setup is way faster. Has anyone else switched to ditching boxes after a similar wake-up call?

Totally get it now. Used to think keeping the boxes was part of the hobby, but seeing your setup makes so much more sense. Might have to copy that binder idea.

That binder system for cards and tokens is such a smart move. I went even further and started taking pictures of the box art and rulebooks, then just tossed the paper. It's all digital now, saved on a tablet I keep at the game table. Makes you wonder why we ever needed all that bulky stuff in the first place, right?
