Shoutout to the guy who caught my flange gasket mistake in Houston

We were buttoning up a steam drum and I had a 150-pound gasket in backwards. He spotted it before we pressurized, saving us a huge blowout. Anyone else have a close call that a second set of eyes caught?

A 150-pound gasket backwards is a new one for me. That's the kind of mistake you only get to make once. Good thing your guy was paying attention.

Imagine installing that thing wrong and having to explain it to the boss. You'd need a gasket that big just to cover your own rear end. Always amazes me what a pair of fresh eyes can catch before the real fun starts. Makes you wonder how many near misses we never hear about.
