Wait, ten whole days? How much extra did that end up costing? @wyatt_thomas, at least your water heater was just rust, but mismatched parts sound like a whole other level of trouble. I can't imagine dealing with that for over a week.

Ugh, that sounds so familiar! We had the same thing happen with a water heater last winter, everything was rusted together.
