Our group of 8 had been arguing about The Goldfinch for 3 meetings straight. Last Tuesday, Sarah dropped a bomb saying Theo was actually the villain the whole time and three people walked out. Used to love Theo but damn that take actually made sense.

The real argument nobody brings up is that Boris is actually the perfect mirror of Theo but we romanticize his chaos. That book makes you pick a side and suddenly you realize your friends see the world completely different than you do.
