PSA: I watered my orchids with tap water for years before a friend in Miami pointed out the chlorine.

I switched to filtered water about eight months ago and the leaf burn stopped completely. Has anyone else seen a big change after switching their plant's water source?

My peace lily in Seattle gave up after two years of my tap water kindness. I guess I was just slowly poisoning it.

That "slowly poisoning it" thing hits home. You see it everywhere, right? Like how we keep using those plastic containers because they're handy, but they're probably leaching stuff into our food. Or the "air freshener" that just covers up smells with more chemicals. Makes you wonder how many everyday habits are just tiny doses of something bad.

My buddy had the same thing happen with his fern, @keith426. He used tap water for ages and the leaves just got all brown and crispy. Turns out the minerals in our water here build up in the soil over time. He switched to filtered water and it made a huge difference.
