Showerthought: I thought leaf variegation was just a nutrient problem until my pothos proved me wrong
Honestly I used to swear my pothos was losing its white stripes because it needed more fertilizer, so I dumped in a full scoop of Miracle-Gro every two weeks for a month. Then a friend who runs the greenhouse at the Cincinnati Nature Center poked at a leaf and pointed out the new growth was coming out solid green while the old variegated leaves were fine, which meant the vine was reverting, not starving. I moved it from my dim hallway to a north window that gets about 4 hours of soft light and stopped feeding it, and the next three leaves came in with way more white. Tbh I had it backwards the whole time, the plant was basically telling me it couldn't afford to make chlorophyll-free tissue in low light. Ngl now I want to know if anyone else has had a reverted vine actually come back, or did I just get lucky.
