The week my calathea put out 4 new leaves and then the spider mites showed up on day 6
So two weeks back I moved my calathea orbifolia to the bathroom window in my Toledo apartment and it went nuts, 4 new leaves in 6 days and I was texting pics to everyone. Then on day 7 I flipped a leaf over and saw that fine webbing, you know the kind, and it was already spreading to the pothos next to it. I washed every leaf with soapy water and neem twice in 3 days, wiped down the whole shelf, and still lost 2 of the new leaves before it slowed down. The lesson is the good week was real but I got lazy and stopped checking undersides when things were going great, which is exactly when bugs sneak in. Anyone got a neem to water ratio that actually worked without frying the leaves?
