Went back to the old botanical garden in St. Louis last weekend and noticed the greenhouse windows are way cloudier than I remember from 15 years ago.

I swear the glass used to be crystal clear and now you can barely see the tropical plants through the haze, has anyone else noticed their local gardens getting worse maintenance over time?

My buddy went to the same garden last summer and said the orchid room looked like it was full of ghosts. He counted like 4 dead plants just sitting there by the door.

Hang on, maybe those dead plants were part of the display. Some gardens keep dried specimens around for educational purposes, showing what happens when orchids don't get enough light or water. Plus, a lot of people forget that orchids naturally drop leaves and flowers after blooming, so a few bare stalks don't mean the whole room is neglected. Could be your buddy walked in during the quiet season when they were rotating stock out. Just saying, one visit doesn't tell the whole story.
