My brother swore by this one brand of duct tape for years, said it could hold up a car door.

I finally tried it to fix a mailbox post after a storm, and the thing fell over in 20 minutes. What's a brand you've been let down by after hearing nothing but hype?

Oh man, that's the worst feeling. I had that happen with a "super strong" glue that couldn't even fix a mug handle.

Try roughing up the surfaces first, it actually works.

Wait, a mug handle? That stuff is supposed to hold a car door together. I bought a tube last year to fix a ceramic planter, and it just peeled right off after it dried. The box had a picture of someone gluing a shovel back together, which seems like a straight up lie now.
