Remember when everyone said you had to buy the expensive brand of work boots or your feet would be destroyed?
I stuck with my cheap pair from the discount store for 5 years through nursing school and night shifts, and they held up fine, so what's the real difference besides the price tag on the box?

You make a good point about already finding what works. I see what jesser79 is saying about support, but it feels like a lot of the boot talk is just brand hype. If a cheap pair lasts five years of hard use, that's proof enough for me. The real difference for most people probably is just the price tag and the story they tell themselves. It can't be that serious if the basic product does the exact same job without falling apart.
