Showerthought: I ditched my $150 Nike runners for a $40 no-name pair and my feet never felt better
I used to be all about that Nike swoosh, spent $150 on a pair of Air Maxes last year because everyone said they were the best for daily wear. But after 4 months, the sole started peeling and my arches ached every evening. On a whim, I grabbed a random brand from a discount store for $40, some generic athletic shoe with zero hype. Turns out, they fit better, breathe easier, and I've been wearing them daily for 6 months without any issues. It got me thinking about brand loyalty and how much we buy into marketing hype instead of actual comfort. My experience made me question if high price tags really mean better quality or if we just assume they do. Has anyone else found a cheap brand that outperformed a big name for them?

Not sure if anybody considered this, but a lot of those big brands engineer shoes to feel great in the store for five minutes, not for months of daily wear, which is a completely different kind of comfort.
