Vent: That expensive insulated tumbler I bought is a total scam

I dropped $45 on this fancy tumbler from a brand everyone raves about, thinking it would keep my coffee hot for hours. After 3 weeks of use, the lid started leaking all over my car's cup holder, and the drink was barely warm after 30 minutes. I reached out to their customer support, and they told me I was using it wrong - said I needed to preheat it with boiling water first. Like who has time for that before work? I shoulda just stuck with my $8 gas station mug that actually works fine. Now I'm stuck with this overpriced paperweight that cost me a stained driver's seat too. Anyone else get burned by those hype brand tumblers?

And I actually saw a test online where someone compared those expensive tumblers against a cheap one from the grocery store, and the cheap one kept drinks hot longer. That really opened my eyes to how much of it is just marketing hype. The preheating thing is such a lame excuse, my old gas station mug never needed a warm up routine before work. If the lid is already failing after three weeks, that's just bad design no matter how you prep it. It's wild how fast these companies go from "premium quality" to "you're using it wrong" when you call them out. Makes me wonder if anyone actually holds these brands accountable for stuff like this.

Preheating might help some but that's still a bad lid design.
