My $6 bag of dried beans saved my grocery budget for two weeks straight
I used to buy canned beans for convenience, paying around $2 a can. Last month I grabbed a 2-pound bag of dried pintos for $6 at the local Kroger. That one bag made 4 separate meals: chili, burritos, soup, and refried beans. It took some soaking and simmering, but I saved roughly $20 compared to canned. Has anyone else switched to dried beans and noticed a big difference?

Nah man, time is money and I don't have hours to soak beans, lol. Canned is worth the extra couple bucks when I can just open and eat in 5 minutes.

I used to be team "soak everything" for years, honestly. But @felixfisher you make a solid point. I started buying canned beans for weeknight chili when i'm too tired after work and it's just not worth the extra hour of fussing. Saves me maybe 30 bucks a month but i get to sit down and eat before 8pm which is priceless.
