My cheap travel pillow popped on a flight to Denver
It was one of those inflatable ones I got for about eight bucks. Right as we hit cruising altitude, it just went flat with a sad little hiss. I ended up using my rolled-up hoodie for the rest of the trip, which actually worked fine. Has anyone found a decent budget pillow that doesn't self-destruct?

That "sad little hiss" is the sound of defeat. I've had good luck with those memory foam ones that squish down into their own bag (got mine on sale for maybe fifteen bucks). The key is the bag has to have a strong zipper, otherwise it's a fight to pack it.

Those always seem to pop back out halfway through a trip.

Honestly, I'm gonna defend the cheap inflatable one. That hiss means it did its job and got you to cruising altitude. For eight bucks, you got a whole pillow that packed down to nothing. A rolled up hoodie was your backup plan the whole time anyway. The memory foam ones are a bulky pain to carry around before you even get on the plane. Sometimes the simplest, disposable option is the right call for a single trip.
