Finally saw the grocery bill drop after 3 months of meal planning

I started planning every dinner for the week back in October and this month our spending went from around $600 to $425. Biggest change was just writing a list and sticking to it, no impulse buys. Has anyone else seen a big difference just from cutting out those random mid-week store runs?

Wait, you guys were really dropping $50 on a random Tuesday trip? @robert_anderson69 thats wild but I get it. The biggest thing for me was cutting out the "I'll just grab one thing" trips because that never ends with one thing. You walk in for milk and walk out with a bag of chips, a frozen pizza, and some candy you didnt even want. The list trick works because it gives you a reason to say no to yourself at the store. I also noticed I started eating leftovers more since I actually had a plan for them instead of forgetting they existed. Meal planning feels like a chore at first but its basically free money once you get the hang of it.

That random mid-week run was costing me over $50 each time, easy.
