A fellow journaler told me my monthly log was way too cluttered and it stung but she was right
Back in March I posted a photo of my monthly spread and someone commented that I was trying to cram too many tasks and events into one page. I was using 4 different colors and symbols for everything from appointments to grocery lists. So I stripped it down to just a simple vertical list with a dot for tasks and a circle for events. Now I use a separate "brain dump" page for random notes and it's way easier to actually find stuff. Anybody else get feedback that made them rethink their whole system?

Man that reminds me of when I tried using washi tape to color code my weekly spreads. I had like 12 different rolls going and it looked like a craft store exploded on my desk. After a month I realized I was spending more time picking out tape colors than actually writing stuff down. Now I just use a black pen and a highlighter for urgent things. Simpler is better when you actually need to use the thing.

12 rolls of tape? Sounds like a scrapbooking hobby, not a planner.
