Picked up a new habit from a coffee shop in Portland last month

I was sitting at this little place called Proud Mary and saw a guy using his bullet journal to track his coffee bean tasting notes. He had columns for roast date, flavor, and brew method. It got me thinking about how I could use my bujo for more than just tasks, so now I have a whole section for tracking my weekly gym splits. Anyone else use their journal for something unexpected like that?

My friend Sarah once had a whole section in her bujo just for rating the bathrooms at different coffee shops around town. She started it as a joke but got really into it after she found one with heated toilet seats and little plants on the counter. I had to remind her that @kelly_nelson95's point about tracking the actual experience rather than just the place name made a lot of sense for her too. She ended up adding columns for cleanliness, ambiance, and how fast the line moved which turned it into this weirdly detailed system. Now she gives bathroom tours to visiting friends which is equal parts hilarious and useful. I never would have thought a bullet journal could be used for something that random but it works for her.

That's pretty clever actually. I use mine for tracking how much bourbon I've tried from different distilleries.

Close but bourbon tracking usually means you’re counting bottles, not individual pours from different places. The notebook method works better for jotting down tasting notes and ratings than just listing distilleries. You’re missing out on the best part - remembering which small batch was the one you liked.
