Started a 5 minute brain dump page every morning and my bujo finally stuck after 7 months
I used to spend 20 minutes making perfect weekly spreads and then quit by Wednesday. Back in March I switched to just dumping every thought on one page for 5 minutes before doing any layouts, and now I have filled 4 notebooks in a row. The messy pages look bad but they actually get used, which is more than my old pretty spreads ever did. Anyone else keep a dump page, and do you rewrite the important stuff into your weekly or just leave it?
My 2018 hobonichi has maybe four months of daily spreads that are actually filled out. The rest is just blank grids with grocery lists scribbled sideways across them. I spent like 40 bucks on that thing plus another 25 on fancy pens and washi tape, all so I could write "milk, eggs, call mom" in different colors. Now I just use a cheap legal pad on my desk and it works better than the whole system ever did. The planner community makes it look like everyone has their life together in these neat little boxes, but most of us are just pretending. My advice is keep the dump pages, toss the rest, and stop feeling bad about it.
