Found a weird fix for cabinet doors that keep sagging

Spent 3 hours adjusting hinges on a kitchen set last month and they still drooped after a week. Tried a trick where I shimmed the top hinge with a piece of old credit card and it leveled them instantly. Anybody else run into this or have a better way to stop the sag?

Swear by the credit card trick myself! Did the same thing with a cabinet in my rental that would not stay shut no matter what I tried. I used a torn up grocery rewards card because I figured it was thin enough not to mess with the alignment too much. Worked like a charm and it's been holding for months now. Honestly those plastic cards are way better than the metal shims I bought from the hardware store that just bent and slipped out. Your grandpa's butter knife fix sounds wild though, I kind of want to try that on my stubborn bathroom cabinet just to see if it works.

Rewards cards are basically free hardware store shims with better loyalty.
