I noticed a huge shift in customer behavior after I added a loyalty punch card program

Started it about 4 months ago. Before that, people would come in, grab their drink, leave. Now I have regulars coming back 3 or 4 times a week to fill up the card. The free drink on the 10th visit seems cheap but they end up spending way more on pastries and extras in between. Has anyone else seen repeat business jump after a simple loyalty thing like this?

The 7-Eleven by my truck stop tried those punch cards and I filled one up in like 2 weeks on just coffee runs. My wallet still hasn't forgiven me for all the donuts I bought "just to hit the next stamp.
