TIL my old boss was right about using lighter fluid on sticky shutter mechanisms
He ran a repair shop in Portland for 40 years and always said a drop of Ronsonol on a cotton bud was the fix for old leaf shutters. I thought it was too harsh and avoided it for a decade, but a stuck Seiko in a Mamiya 6 last week wouldn't budge with my usual cleaner. Tried his method and it freed up instantly. Anyone have a different go-to for that specific gunk?

Portland repair shop wisdom beats overthinking it every time.

Absolutely. My local bike shop fixed a weird noise in five minutes that I'd been trying to diagnose for weeks. What's your best repair shop story?
