Can we talk about those cheap foam sleeping pads versus a basic inflatable one?

I used a $15 foam pad from a big box store for years, but my back was killing me after a weekend in Olympic National Park last month. I finally grabbed a $40 inflatable pad from a local gear shop, and the difference in comfort (and warmth) was honestly huge. Anyone have a favorite budget inflatable pad they've used for more than a season?

Honestly, what took you so long to switch? I was the same as @paigep20, clinging to my foam pad until my hips felt bruised. That basic inflatable pad is a total game changer for side sleepers. My old one from a big sale is still going strong after three years, no leaks yet. Tbh, the extra comfort means I actually sleep now instead of just lying there.

Oh man, I was a foam pad loyalist for SO long. That first night on a decent inflatable totally changed my mind though.
