For months I figured it was just people being too sensitive about some edgy jokes. Then a friend sent me a compilation from his 2010 tour, and the stuff was way more mean-spirited than I remembered. It wasn't just jokes, it was targeting specific groups for twenty minutes straight. That changed my view on the whole 'cancellation'. Had a similar thing with a singer I liked. Defended them for ages when people called their lyrics gross. Finally watched the music video everyone was mad about. It was just them leering at teenagers for three minutes. Felt pretty dumb after that. Sometimes you just don't know the full story until you look.
