My neighbor's joke at the cookout got him exiled from our group chat

At a backyard barbecue, he made a dumb comment about a TV show that someone recorded and shared online. Now, half the street is calling for him to be banned from all neighborhood events because it was deemed insensitive. I think it's crazy to ruin a guy's social life over one offhand remark. This call-out stuff is turning normal people into paranoid hermits.

Everything's a federal case now, no room for human error.

Really feels like we can't catch a break anymore. Even tiny slip-ups get blown way out of proportion, lol. People act like every error is some huge moral failing. We're all just trying our best, but it never seems enough. The pressure to be perfect all the time is exhausting. Totally get where you're coming from.

Remember when I mixed up two coworker's names last week? Felt like I needed to call a full investigation committee just to apologize properly. My track record suggests I should probably get a name tag for myself at this point.
