The difference a proper knee kicker made on a tight stair job

I had a tricky stair install in an old house in Portland last week, with a tight turn and a low ceiling. I started with my old, worn out kicker and just could not get the tension right on the top step, it kept buckling. Switched to a newer model with the adjustable head and got it locked in on the first solid hit. The difference in the power transfer was night and day. Anyone have a favorite brand for those tough, confined spaces?

Ever think a kicker was just a kicker? I used to, until a tight hallway job showed me how a good one saves your back and your time. That power transfer really is everything.

Found that out the hard way on a basement job.

That "power transfer" talk is just marketing, a good swing matters more than the tool.
