PSA: Don't fall for the $5 footlong nostalgia at Subway
I paid $8.50 for a footlong sub here in Nashville last week and it was basically a bread sandwich with a whisper of meat. The menu says $5 but that's only for two specific subs now, and they never have the ingredients ready anyway. Anyone else notice the portions getting stingier too?

You're cherry picking though. I've been going to the Subway on Charlotte Avenue and they always have the $5 deals ready to go, I got the Italian BMT last Tuesday no problem. Sounds like your store is slacking but that's not every location. And the portions thing, maybe you got a bad sandwich artist because mine had plenty of meat. Your mileage may vary but $8.50 sounds like you chose a premium sub and then got mad it wasn't on the promo menu.

Eight bucks fifty for a footlong at any Subway is still highway robbery.

Well that's kind of how everything is going these days isn't it! You never know what you're gonna get from one place to the next. Like my local McDonald's always gets my order right but my friend's one across town messes up their fries every single time. I think some stores just have better management and training honestly. It's the same with grocery stores too, one Kroger will have fresh produce and the other one looks like everything was left out in the sun. So your Subway might be great but that doesn't mean the one on 5th Street isn't a total disaster.
