Saw my neighbor bag up all their fall leaves for trash pickup last week
They filled about 15 big plastic bags and left them at the curb. I asked them about it and they said they thought it was cleaner that way. But all those leaves just go to the landfill to make methane gas. I told them to try mulching them with a mower or starting a compost pile instead. Has anyone else found a good way to convince folks to stop trashing yard waste?

Used to do the same thing until I saw how much it helped my garden. Mulching leaves into the lawn is free fertilizer, you know? Why pay to throw away something that good?

Ever think about what mulching does for the soil bugs? @ruby_rivera76 is right about the free food, but it's also like building a tiny bug city under your grass. More worms means better dirt, which means you might not need to water as much later on.
