The day I had to choose between my French press and my espresso machine during a power outage

With no electricity for 3 hours last Tuesday I had to pick between the gas stove for a moka pot brew or cold brew concentrate from the fridge, and honestly the moka pot won but it came out so bitter I almost dumped it down the sink - has anyone else had a power outage ruin their whole coffee routine?

Three hours without power is rough, but you picked the moka pot over a cold brew concentrate? Was it the ritual of brewing that won you over, or just a moment of bad judgment?

Totally backing you up on bad judgment call. I did the same thing last month during a blackout - spent 20 minutes futzing with a moka pot on the gas stove while ignoring a pitcher of cold brew in the fridge. The ritual just felt right at the time.
