Warning about that 'just use boiling water' tip for pour-over
My barista buddy told me to always use water right off the boil, but my brews were tasting bitter for months. I finally got a thermometer and saw my kettle was actually at 212F, way too hot for the light roast I use. Anyone else have a simple tip that actually made things worse?

Honestly I did the exact same thing for way too long. Felt like a real genius when I finally figured out my kettle was just murdering the beans.

Oh my god I know right? That price is just wild for a light roast. It feels like prices have gotten totally out of control lately. I saw a bag for almost that much the other day and just put it right back on the shelf. Makes you wonder what they're thinking charging that much.
