Spent $200 on a cheap thermal paste that fried a client's gaming PC
I got a bulk tube of 'Arctic Frost' paste from a sketchy online seller to save cash. After using it on a custom build for a client in Phoenix, the CPU temps spiked to 100C within a week and killed the chip. Had to eat the cost of a new Ryzen 7 5800X to make it right. Anyone know a reliable supplier for bulk thermal compound that won't ruin my rep?

That Arctic Frost paste is a known problem on some tech forums. I've seen a few people in the Phoenix area get burned by it too, literally. In my opinion, the paste drying out that fast points to a bad batch or fake product, not just being cheap. I've used basic MX-4 from a real store for years without a single failure. Sometimes the supplier matters more than the brand name on the tube.

Reminds me of the time ben_nguyen tried to fix his Xbox with toothpaste.
