Had a talk with my uncle about the Sega Saturn last weekend
He said the Saturn had better 2D fighters than the PlayStation and brought up how X-Men vs Street Fighter ran smoother on it. I always dismissed the Saturn but now I'm wondering if I missed out on something.

Think about how the Saturn's RAM cart setup actually made it better for arcade fans. You could swap out the 1MB or 4MB cart depending on what game you were playing, which was way more flexible than the PlayStation's fixed hardware. X-Men vs SF and Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter used the 4MB cart and ran nearly arcade perfect with all the frames of animation. Meanwhile PlayStation owners had to deal with loading times and missing frames in ports like the same games on Capcom Generation collections.

Oh come on, @grant_hart, is it really that deep though? Like yeah the RAM carts were neat and all, but swapping carts every time you wanted to play a different game sounds like a hassle, not a feature. Plus most people just left the 4MB one in there anyway, right?

Wait, is this really that deep for 90s arcade ports?
