That one comment about my lighting totally flipped my setup

A dude in a Discord server told me my face was half in shadow during a stream back in March. He just said "bro turn on a lamp" real casual, but I had been fussing with ring lights for months. I grabbed a $15 clamp light from Home Depot and pointed it at the wall behind my monitor, now the whole room looks way better. Has anyone else gotten a super simple fix from a random viewer that worked better than all the gear you bought?
