Heard a junior writer say 'SEO is dead' and I just laughed
I was sitting in a coffee shop last week and overheard some kid telling his friend that SEO doesn't matter anymore because of AI. Made me think back to 2015 when everyone said the same thing about Google updates. I've been doing content strategy for 8 years now and every time someone claims a channel is dead, it just means they don't want to put in the work. The basics still work - write for people, not algorithms, and watch your analytics. Has anyone else noticed how the newbies always chase shiny objects instead of sticking with what actually drives traffic?

You ever notice how the same people screaming "SEO is dead" are the ones who haven't written a solid meta description in their life? I've seen it happen every couple years since I started doing this stuff back in 2016. It's just an excuse to avoid grinding out keyword research and actually tracking what works.

And the thing is, the basics still work if you actually do them... I see people skip the simple stuff like title tags or fixing broken links and then wonder why their site tanks. It's like they want a shortcut so bad they forget the foundation is right there.

Didn’t they teach us that skipping steps just breaks everything later?
