One piece of feedback from a client on LinkedIn crushed my whole content approach, and I think they were right

I had a client tell me last month that my blog posts felt like they were written by a robot for other robots. At first I was defensive. But then I looked at my last 10 posts and they all had the same structure - keyword in H2, bullet points, and a CTA. No real story. No personality. So I rewrote a post about a service they offer, just told a short story about a customer problem and how they fixed it. They said it was the first time the post actually sounded like them. Has anyone else had a client or boss tell you something that made you completely change your writing voice?

Felt like they were written by a robot for other robots" - that hits hard because it's probably true for most of us. I've definitely been guilty of cranking out posts that check all the SEO boxes but have all the personality of a brick. The worst part is you think you're being professional and strategic when really you're just blending into the noise. Your client did you a favor honestly. Nothing makes you rethink your approach faster than someone calling you out for being boring.

Oof, actually I think your client just wanted less fluff, not more personality necessarily.
