That time I wrote a story about a talking mailbox and my mom called me at work
Last month I was messing around with a prompt about sentient street furniture and wrote a 3 page story where a mailbox starts giving relationship advice to people walking by. I thought it was just for me and my little writing group, but my mom somehow got a copy through my cousin. She called me during my break at the warehouse and said 'son, I didn't raise you to spend your time writing about a mailbox's love life' while my coworkers were all listening. Has anyone else had a family member find your weird writing experiment and give you a hard time about it?
